USCBC Starts CSR Update Mailing List
To alert members about developments on corporate social responsibility (CSR) issues in China, the US-China Business Council has created a CSR update service for Council member company representatives. The service will send announcements about projects in which companies could participate, notifications of reports on CSR issues in China, and invitations to participate in China-related CSR roundtable discussions.
To receive these notifications electronically, USCBC members should send their e-mail addresses and contact information to Julie Walton at jwalton@uschina.org
Corporate Social Responsibility
The US-China Business Council provides information and services to member companies and other organizations interested in supporting projects that promote corporate social responsibility (CSR) in China. The Council's bimonthly magazine, the China Business Review, also covers CSR topics regularly through feature stories and through the "Opportunities" bulletin, which lists charitable projects seeking corporate support. The Council does not necessarily endorse any of the projects covered in the CBR or in Opportunities but is pleased to offer the information for interested members of the China business community. For more information on corporate social responsibility in China, including projects and articles, see below.
Opportunities
News of China-related educational, cultural, and charitable projects
The China Business Review department Opportunities introduces significant charitable, cultural, and educational projects that seek American business support and aims to help companies identify programs that merit their assistance. American companies participate in a broad range of programs that bring benefit to the people of China and strengthen the bonds of US-China friendship beyond the commercial realm. Opportunities is intended to help companies explore new ways of making a difference. (Note: Neither the US-China Business Council nor the CBR is a sponsor of any project listed in Opportunities and makes no recommendation with regard to corporate assistance to any specific project.)
We encourage interested companies to contact the programs directly, so that each firm can review the more-detailed materials that individual organizations can provide.
The CBR encourages contributions to Opportunities from organizations that have developed joint US-PRC charitable, cultural, and educational projects that seek US corporate support. Interested organizations should submit full details of their project(s) in this format by e-mail to publications@uschina.org with "Opportunities Submission" in the Subject line.
